(Jan.2020) As part of a design and construction project, CONSULMAR was invited by the consortium composed by the contractors Teixeira Duarte, SETH and Armando Cunha to prepare the Detailed Design of the Inglês Port expansion and requalification, at the island of Maio.

It is a work of the greatest importance for this Cabo Verdean island, which until now was the only one without a port with shelter structures.

These works will substantially reduce the restrictions that the island has been subject to, not only in terms of goods supply but also in the maritime transport of passengers.

The Detailed Design concerns the execution of a detached breakwater, the revetment of the current pier with sheet pile curtain, the construction of two Ro-Ro ramps, and the rehabilitation and expansion of the port embankment.

The best security conditions in this port will also allow the implementation of a series of initiatives in the area of ​​tourism long foreseen for this island and, thus, make a strong contribution to its development.

The works are expected to be completed in mid-2021.
