Expansion and Modernization of the International Airport of Sao Tome and Principe
The existing infrastructure at the International Airport of Sao Tome – runway, access roads and buildings, are severely degraded and are clearly insufficient to accommodate the current and planned traffic conditions. The project involves the definition of scenarios of short, medium and long-term for the airport expansion and the projects for the necessary infrastructure. These projects include the expansion of the runway, new access roads and parking areas, new terminal buildings (passenger, VIP and cargo), customs and administrative buildings, construction of a new village for the resettlement of the population affected by the expansion of the airport (about 400 dwellings), access to the airport and motorway. CONSULMAR undertook the Preliminary Design, Detailed Design and Environmental Impact Assessment.
