Ikea Store in Amadora – Foundations and Structure

The Ikea Store in Alfragide was designed by architect Rui Maia. It is a building with a total construction area of 75,000 m2.
The store building is divided into three structural modules and has a reinforced concrete structure with typical structural grid of 8×8 m2. On the upper floors, the structural grid is 8×16 m2 or 16×16 m2 with prestressed and composite steel-concrete structural solutions for the floors.
The roof is a steel structure supported on the concrete columns in a grid of 16×16 m2.
The technical team of DIMSTRUT, currently in CONSULMAR staff, designed the foundation and structure.
