Vasco da Gama Container terminal
In a consortium led by CONSULMAR, which involved the HIDROMOD and NEMUS companies, the preliminary study of the Vasco da Gama Terminal and its Environmental Impact Study was prepared for the Administration of the Ports of Sines and Algarve, S.A.
It is a terminal for the handling of containers to be developed in two phases, consisting of a Pier with a front of 1,380 m in length, an embankment with about 90 ha for the installation of the Container Park and Logistics Area, and a breakwater with an extension of 1,200 m.
The project also includes Dredging to ensure full maritime access, as well as Terrestrial Accessibilities (road and rail) to the new terminal.
To be developed in two phases, the TVG will have a final reference capacity of 3 million TEU / year, bringing the Port of Sines to a new level in the volume of containers moved and the number of scales of large container ships.
