Expansion and Modernization of the Ports of Vale de Cavaleiros and Furna, Cape Verde
CONSULMAR, in association with a local office, is responsible for the project review, site supervision and coordination of safety on site, as well as the environmental monitoring of the Expansion Works of the Ports of Vale de Cavaleiros, in the island of Fogo, and Furna, in the island of Brava, both in charge of a Portuguese consortium.
With an investment of the order of 22.5 Meuro, co-financed by the Portuguese and Cape Verdean States, in the port of Vale de Cavaleiros the following works are envisaged: shelter works, 30m long fishing pier and a 100m long new commercial berth; the extension and refurbishing of the existing pier, embankments and associated infrastructure, as well as buildings, parking areas, landscaping and repaving of the access road to the port.
In the port of Furna the construction of a new 75m long multipurpose berth is envisaged, along with the extension of the existing 60m long one and two buildings (maritime gare and administrative) and power and supporting lighting networks. The consolidation of the cliff on the access road, completes the set of interventions initiated in 2010 and scheduled for completion in 2013.
