Fishing Port of Portimão
The fishing sector of the Port of Portimão is located downstream of the bridge on the left bank of the river Arade. The main elements are the 400m long of quays, bed levels of (-6.00m)CD and two piers about 200m long each, a beaching ramp and an inclined plane and a fitting out quay.
The works also include the building for fish auctions, warehouses for equipment and workshop facilities and social and administrative buildings.
Studies of the Port of Portimão, prepared by CONSULMAR, began in the 70s with the General Development Plan, which aim was to study the use of the final section of the estuary and the corresponding location of the port facilities and its hydraulic analysis.
CONSULMAR prepared all the concept and planning studies, and detailed design of the marine works and onshore facilities, undertook the supervision of the Works and then carried out the studies of environmental requalification.
