Built in the late 90s, the port had two sheltering structures with lengths of 530m and 345m and a 160m long groyne. Later, the 100m extension of the West jetty has been designed, for operational reasons. The port works include quays with bed levels of (-3.00m)CD and 150m operational length, two floating walkways with overall length of 250m and a beaching ramp. The port also has four floating walkways installed inside the root of the jetties. CONSULMAR developed all the concept studies, planning, detailed designs, environmental impact studies and mathematical modeling, as well as further studies to improve operability.
