Maritime Traffic Control System (Vts) in Mainland Portugal
CONSULMAR was involved in the initial project, as well as in site supervision (in consortium) of the implementation of the “Supply and Installation of Equipment” and “Contract for Construction/Refurbishment of the Support Infrastructure”, which took place between 2005 and 2008 and which total investment, of the order of 80MEuro, was the responsibility of the Portuguese State, co-financed by the European Union.
In addition to the design services, which included technical assistance, Consulmar also provided the supervision of the works under two different scopes “Technology” and “Civil works” for all facilities. These included thirty-four locations, as follows: a centre of port control, two coastal control centres, eight sensors, eight ports sensors and fifteen communications towers.
The services provided also included the Safety Control on site, as well as environmental monitoring.
